Team Captain Information
What team captain does:
- Organize a team.
- Give a member packet to each team member.
- Select a name for team.
- Collect information from team members.
- Enter information for team on http://walkacrosstexas.tamu.edu.
- Contact site manager with questions and issues.
- Inform team members of important dates and activities.
Steps for Team Captains
Step 1
Attend captain training given by site manager and/or county Extension agent.
- Pick up team packets (see below)
- Learn process steps
Step 2
Recruit 7 people to be on your team with you and distribute the team packets.

Complete Team
Registration Form

- Select team name
- Send completed form to Site Manager
Step 4
Entering Data
- Complete the Team Captain Registration Form.
- Make sure you remember your PASSWORD so you can enter your team's mileage each week.
- Have a team name to enter.
- Please note: The (1) team name and (2) password must be entered exactly the same each time. For example, if your password is Road toads, Road toad will not work. Write down password and team name and keep near where you will be entering information each week.
- Register your team using the information from their Individual Registration
Forms.
- Only first name should be entered.
- Enter your team's mileage on the Captains' Mileage Log.
- Enter your team's pounds lost on the Captains' Pounds Lost Log.
- Enter Wrap-Up information.
Step 5
Attend Kick-Off Event.
Step 6
Enter miles walked/pounds lost each week.
Step 7
Attend Mid-Way Event.
Step 8
Obtain Recognition Certificates (PDF) from Site Manager.
Step 9
Attend Recognition Event and distribute Recognition Certificates to your team members.
