How to Use Walk Across Texas for Mobile Devices

 

1. Team Captains and Solo Walkers should have registered for an account.

 

Write down the email address and password used for this account.

 

If you are a Solo Walker, skip to step 3.

 

 

2. Next, Team Captains should add Team Members to their account including their email addresses.

 

VERY IMPORTANT: Team Members will use their email address and the Team Captain's password to login to their accounts.


 

3. Open your web browser on your mobile device.

 

Go to the web address of the WAT! Mobile site:

 

http://walkacrosstexas.tamu.edu/mobile/

 

Login using your email address and password.

 

VERY IMPORTANT: Team Members will use their own email address and the Team Captain's password to login to their accounts. Please contact your Team Captain for the password.

 

Upon login, the first screen you will see will be the Dashboard.

 

 

4. To Add Miles Walked...

 

On the WAT! Mobile Dashboard, click the green Add Miles Walked button. You will be redirected to the Add Miles Walked screen.

 

Select your Walk Date. The current day should automatically be selected for you. Change the date if necessary.

 

Note: This date should fall within your 8 week walking period. If you continue to get an error, the Team Captain or Solo Walker will have to change the start date within their account. To do this, login to the Desktop version of Walk Across Texas and click the My Account tab. Scroll down to the Start Date field.

 

Next, enter Miles Walked.

 

Then click the green Save button.

 

You will be redirected to the Dashboard and the Miles Walked total below the buttons should be updated.

 

If you make a mistake, you will need to login to the Desktop version of Walk Across Texas and correct your Weekly totals on the Add / Edit Miles screen.

 

 

5. To Add Pounds Lost...

 

On the WAT! Mobile Dashboard, click the green Add Pounds Lost button. You will be redirected to the Add Pounds Lost screen.

 

Enter the Total Pounds Lost under the correct week.

 

Click the green Save button

 

You will be redirected to the Dashboard and the Pounds Lost total below the buttons should be updated.

 

 

6. Using the Mileage Equivalents Calculator...

 

Convert just about any activity into Miles Walked using the Mileage Equivalents Calculator.

 

Only use this calculator if your exact mileage is unknown.

 

Participants with exact mileage indicated by a treadmill, odometer, GPS, mobile phone or other device should use those values instead.

 

On the WAT! Mobile Dashboard, click the Mileage Calculator button. You will be redirected to the Mileage Equivalents Calculator screen.

 

Enter your Weight in Pounds. Then Enter your Time in Minutes. Then Select Activity Type.

 

Click the green Select Specific Activity button. Choose Your Activity. The click the green Calculate button.

 

Total Estimated Miles will be shown. Enter this number on your Add Miles Walked screen or click the Calculate Another Activity button.
